U21 Match 2 – Norvan Saints

Rinos Vancouver SC U-21

After a disapointing loss in week one the U21s came out strong.

The team was strong from the back starting with a bounce back week from keeper Anthony, as well as a solid defensive core including Max, Mike, Ogy, David, and JCW. Everyone came out strong and were put the pressure on right away. The team was rewarded with an early goal that displayed the teamwork the this team already possess. In the second half the fact that we had a short bench had tooken its toll, and the fitness training at practice was put to the test. The U21s were playing extremely defensive and were countering the play well due to the speed we had up front. They were able to hold them off long enough to preserve a much needed and deserved W (Which was the first of the season for the club.)

U21 Match 1 – Croatia SC

Croatia SC – Rino”s Vancouver SC U-21

The Under 21 team came in with high hopes for the season being that many improvements that were made over the off season.  Most notably a  much improved staff of forwards that did not disappoint in the opening game.

Coming into the game with a mentality that losing was not an option and  the U21 squad came out swinging, scoring two goals in the first 25 minutes, both scored by newcomer Drissa.  Both goals assisted by some nice hussle from Paul.  Everyone was contributing from the back forward winning at least 75% of the balls in the air and the duece Nick combo controlled the middle of the field (Aswell as Benzar in the second half). Things were on the up and up, but before the blink of an eye two goals were scored against both on sfaap rebounds of free kicks.  When confidence was low we went and got it back, with Paul scoring again before half. Coming out at half with loads of confidence it was a couple more unfortunate goals that were scored again and eventually ended up being the U21″s demise. One being off another free kick from half and the other was an unfortunate penalty kick where they made no mistake.  Unfortunately putting an end to the U21″s first game where the second best team won.
